Macbook Pro 15 had issue with left fan running full speed from boot and no control. Updates, SMC resets, PRAM reset, battery check, keyboard ribbon check no difference. Apple Diagnostic standard result – PPF003 generic fan fault. Right fan works and speed control is fine. Left fan doesn’t respond to any control other than disable fans. On close inspection the small ribbon cable on left fan looked squint so opened clip and tried to put cable in straight, tried to close and lock clip and it sprung out, clip didn’t break but now the fan doesn’t come on at all. Now looks like a job for a watchmaker or micro-sculptor with dexterity, stability and eyesight control well beneath my years!
